We believe that there is solid science behind what we do at TAFA, and want to
(1) Share the research and peer-reviewed literature which supports our position
(2) Collaborate with others interested in pursuing formal research on our methods and outcomes.
Our primary research contact is Jeanette Ellis, the director of quality Assurance, Program Improvement, and Research at Collaborative Support Programs-NJ
We believe that research in all of the following areas is relevant to TAFA:
| Area |
Abstract of One Relevant Article |
| Mental Health Consumer Operated Services |
|
| Self-Help Groups and Centers |
|
| Mental Health "befriending," and its effect on people with and without psyciatric diability |
|
Humor and Laughter and their effects on wellness and recovery |
|
| Friendships help prevent suicidality |
|
In addition, TAFA is committed to measuring our outcomes, surveying everyone involved in our programs, gathering other data for process and quality improvement, and advancing knowledge in mental health and community support.
